In October 2012 Time Out Dubai launched its 2nd annual competition designed to uncover the best young culinary talent in the Emirates, which sees short-listed entrants and their front of house teams battle it out in front of Time Out readers in a high pressure live cook-off for 150 guests to determine the competition’s final result. Official celebrations to mark the Queen Elizabeth II’s 60 years on the throne kicked off in mid May with a suitable equine themed tribute to her 250 Commonwealth and State visits – “The World Comes To Windsor” a Diamond Jubilee Pageant full of pomp and ceremony at the Windsor Horse Show. With the floodlit Windsor castle as backdrop, a glorious 90 minute pageant featured 556 horses and more than 1000 performers from around the world.
